Spring Cleaning Update - April 22–25

Our Public Works and Parks teams are hard at work getting the city fresh and clean for the season! Here's what's happening this week:

Priority street cleaning is wrapping up this week. Overnight crews continue cleaning on Saskatchewan Avenue and a few parking lots. By the end of the week, both day and night shifts will transition into seasonal route cleaning where street sweeping will follow solid waste pick-up schedules — if your garbage is picked up Thursday, your street will be swept Friday! This annual service takes place throughout the summer months when weather and staffing numbers allow.

Sidewalk and median cleaning on Saskatchewan Avenue is nearly done. All seasonal garbage and recycling bins are now out and in use! Once our avenue project is complete, crews will shift focus to prepping seasonal planting locations and conducting seasonal safety audits of our beautiful parks and green spaces.

Yard Waste Pick-Up Starts April 28 and runs through May. During this time residents can place yard waste in clear plastic bags to be picked up on your regular garbage day and taken to our compost site for further processing. Full details available on our website and social media.

Next update: Monday, April 28, 2025. Have a question or concern? Report it online or give us a call at 204-239-8346.
