Parks Committee – Members Needed
The Parks Committee is a group of engaged community members appointed and supported by the City of Portage la Prairie. This community-driven committee:
- works cooperatively with the City to advise on the development and improvement of parks and green spaces to meet the recreation and leisure needs of all residents
- makes recommendations on equipment and upgrades through consultation with the community
- assists in raising funds for projects as prioritized by the committee
- encourages the use of current parks and green spaces and promotes their value in relation to land development plans
- provides a quarterly activity report to Council, and sometimes presents their projects and activities at Council meetings
- meets monthly, and communicates as needed
Who Should Apply:
We welcome applications from residents who:
- are committed to improving our community
- have a diverse range of experiences and perspectives
- are willing to attend monthly meetings
- can work collaboratively with others
