City of Portage la Prairie Announces Departure of City Manager Nathan Peto

The City of Portage la Prairie announces that City Manager Nathan Peto will be departing from his position after seven years of dedicated service. Mr. Peto will be leaving to pursue a new professional opportunity. His last day with the City will be January 27th, 2025.
During his tenure, Mr. Peto has played an integral role in advancing key initiatives and projects that have strengthened the city’s infrastructure, enhanced local services, and fostered a strong relationship between Council and Administration. His contributions have left a lasting impact on Portage la Prairie.
“Nathan has been a steadfast leader and a valued member of our team,” said Mayor Sharilyn Knox. “His commitment to the growth and wellbeing of Portage la Prairie has been evident in everything he’s done. We thank Nathan for his years of dedicated service and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.”
Reflecting on his time with the City, Mr. Peto expressed gratitude to the staff and Council who have supported him throughout his tenure.
“I am incredibly grateful to the dedicated staff and Council members who have worked tirelessly to serve the residents of Portage la Prairie,” said Mr. Peto. “It has been an honor to work alongside such talented and passionate individuals, and I am proud of all we’ve accomplished together. I am confident that Portage la Prairie will continue to thrive, and I look forward to seeing the City’s future success.”
The City Council will begin the search for a new City Manager in the coming weeks. Updates on the recruitment process will be shared with the community as they become available.
