Paying Your Water Bill

The City of Portage la Prairie offers a number of payment options for utilities.  See options listed below.

Drop Box / Mail

Payments can be put in the drop box at the front of City Hall or sent in the mail.

On-line Banking

Make payments though your bank’s on-line banking system (be sure to choose CITY not RM).

e-Transfer

e-Transfers are available for any payment type to the City of Portage la Prairie. They provide quick same-day service. Customers use their online banking to make an e-Transfer. e-Transfer fees are set by your bank or credit union. Fees generally range from free to $1.50 each, depending on your account type. e-Transfer payment amounts may be up to $3,000 per transaction, check with your bank or credit union on the limit amount for your account.

Credit Card Payments

Pay online with your credit card by using Pay Simply at www.paysimply.ca.   This online payment option is available to pay for parking tickets, parking passes, utility accounts, City of Portage la Prairie invoices, tax accounts, or cemetery fees. Please note, there is a 2.5% fee paid by the customer for this service (a $3,000 tax bill payment will have a $75 fee for the customer) and payments can take 3-5 days to process.

Monthly Payment Plan

Pay your water bill monthly on a budget. Equal payments are debited from your bank or credit union account on a monthly basis. An easier way to manage your household expenses. Sign up for the Monthly Payment Plan.

If you need to make changes or cancel your Monthly Payment Plan, fill out the online Changes to the Water Preauthorized Payment Plan / Monthly Payment Plan form.

Preauthorized Payment Plan

Pay your 3 month bill through automatic debit from your bank or credit union account. Do you need to remember to pay your bill by the due date – we will take care of that for you. Sign up for Preauthorized Bills.

If you need to make changes or cancel your Preauthorized Payment Plan, fill out the online Changes to the Water Preauthorized Payment Plan / Monthly Payment Plan form.

TelPay

Direct Payment & e-payment options through TelPay. Visit www.telpay.ca to sign up.

Paymentus

Utility E-Billing
