This year’s fireworks display will be off the southwest bank of the causeway and will primarily be fired west, with some shells being fired to the east. The causeway will be under normal operation for both vehicle and foot traffic until 10:00 pm on July 1st when it will be closed for the fireworks. Fireworks will begin at dusk (approximately 11:00 pm).
Due to a technical error, preauthorized payments for Area 3 utility accounts that were scheduled for withdrawal on Friday, June 20, 2025, did not go through as expected.
The City of Portage la Prairie is actively working with the Province of Manitoba and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans to find safe, legal options for weed control in Crescent Lake.
4th Avenue NE from 5th Street NE to 6th Street NE, as well as 6th Street NE from 4th Avenue NE to 6th Avenue NE has reopened to traffic.
Traffic will reopen and water services will be restored to these areas by 7:00pm this evening.
